Gallery of Australian Design

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

The area formerly known as the School of Design & Architecture is negotiating to take over the former Portrait Gallery space down on the lake foreshore. It is to be known as the Gallery of Australian Design (I think) and all of the branding for this enterprise needs to be completed(!)

Annabelle Pegrum is the person that interested parties need to liaise with:

Annabelle.Pegrum@canberra.edu.au

The job requires consideration of the physical gallery space (signage, frontage, environmental graphics) and 2D branding.

I strongly encourage you to get a delegation together soon and approach Annabelle for further info on what is required at this stage of the project. This is a BIG opportunity so it might be worth working in small teams or as a group.

Building 7 brochure

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Info for the Building 7 brochure was sent in an email.
Make of it what you will.
The idea is to design a brochure that contains the maps and the  additional text info.
Bob has yet to supply text for the Photo studio so you’ll just have to  use some placeholder text for now.
The suggested format was A4 folding down to DL (3 panel concertina)  but you are free to interpret as you like.
The only thing to bear in mind is that it should be a 1 colour print  job so that it can be photocopied.

what i am working on…

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

the same guy has asked for a personal website to be created. This is what i plan to produce during the rest of the semester.

the brief he gave me was:

Less is more. I want this to all fit on one page. Page will be bright and simple. Pic of myself maybe in the background- which im getting done hopefully in the next week or two, either that or of something funky.
Needs these elements -
- Link to showreel (which when clicked will pop-up my showreel).
- Link to my audio check (embedded player, play on click)
- Link to CV (when clicked will popup a CV, which you will need to style, graphics with Cv etc)
- Contact Details

Yeah, so hopefully shouldn’t be too hard. The page can be ’scrapbook’ style … it Can be silly, can be crazy etc Fee free to be a little outrageous, I want it to stand out!…
Even if you want to use some of your stock in a few of your past graphic design projects, that wouldn’t worry me!
You could design a magazine centrefold… actually that could be really cool.
Or scan in a page of ‘eBoy Pixorama’, google it, its cool.

Corner hotel

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

We are coming up with some website flats. Just the front page at the moment. Keep the banner(add frame around banner) it stays up on all pages opened.  Maybe come up with a background image like the big day out website for example. And maybe some icons/images/texboxes for the links (eg front bar, rooftop bar and kitchen etc).

Have a look at the current site. www.cornerhotel.com

Leave a comment if you are doing this project.

a project up for grabs to anyone interested

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

i have been approached by a friend who works in radio to create a website for a company that creates “on hold” productions. Simply, these are audio messages that get played, whilst a customer is on hold.

this is what he has told me….

I want the site to be bright, simple and clear. You can get an idea at these websites:

http://www.phonesound.com.au/

http://www.onholdmagic.com.au/default.aspx?tabid=36
http://www.messagesonhold.com.au/

The first is basically what I need to do.

I’ll figure out content with you at a later date, but I think I’ll only need about 8 or so pages.

Front page
About us
Talent
Samples
Packages
Contact
Order

You can use photo stock images etc You can make up the company name, whatever you think suits. No specific colours. Can be in flash, static HTML etc

if you are interested, let me know and i will get you in contact with him… he’s a student himself so he doesnt have heaps of money but is willing to pay (just will be more of as donation to exhibition!).
