Logo/branding for Queanbeyan City Council

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Hi Geoff
Good to talk to you today. As I mentioned I am looking to ‘revamp’ and change perception of Queanbeyan to be one which has a cosmopolitan overlay to our country lifestyle. Below are some of the elements that come to my mind when I think of what the end result should look like.

I am wanting a graphic image that represents Queanbeyan using the tag line “Country Living – City Benefits”. These words form the foundation.

The design must be able to be used on stickers, posters, banners, thematic signage, in marketing material for businesses, flags, website and must be flexible in sizing to meet each of the different applications.

My preference is three colours green, blue, yellow and using the landscape (mountains) and river as main symbols. I would like to create an emotive attachment to the design.

The design must be strong and stylish, colour of lettering is black (although I can be persuaded to go with something else if need be) and easy to read at a distance fonts to be sans serif – Arial, Helvitica, Tahoma or similar. The design shouldn’t date quickly. It should also be just as strong in black and white as in colour.

The design may may also incorporate a seasonal quality ie summer, winter, autumn, spring.

You may be aware that QCC has commissioned a CBD Master Plan and we are planning to change the CBD to one which is vibrant and exciting and the graphic will form part of this vibrancy.

I would be pleased if you could distribute this information to whomever you think is appropriate. I would want to see several designs.
My contact details are below. Once I have an idea of how many may be interested I will have a meeting with them (hopefuly before the end of the month) to discuss the project.

I am quite excited about finally being able to progress this project as it is one that I have been interested in for a couple of years, and the timing is right to go. I am involved with the Queanbeyan Development Board and they would have a say in selection. Also Councillors and the wider community.

Look forward to hearing from you and the designers soon.

regards
Marg

Folio design

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Here is a job to create a high quality, printed folio featuring a substantial quantity of photographic images – sounds like a task you might know something about…

I am looking for some assistance in polishing up or completely re-hauling (depending on your recommendation) my final portfolio for my Diploma in Makeup Artistry at the Canberra Makeup Academy.
I am required to hand in a portfolio displaying all of my work on or about 1 October 2009 (this date is somewhat flexible). I will however still be working during the final 6 weeks of this term and will be adding to the portfolio as I go.

The portfolio is an image based document full of photographs of my makeup work and information regarding what we have been taught throughout the course.
It contains images from bridal through to injury simulation and latex application.

I am looking for a simple, clean lined, classy final document.

I have been working on this portfolio all year in Microsoft Word for MAC. It is divided into three separate documents for Terms one, two and three. Currently the Term One document is 40 pages, Term Two is 20 pages and
Term Three will be a total of 20 pages.

This is a paid job, however I am not sure how to determine an overall budget and am looking for feedback regarding this.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Karen Mathias
